President Barham Salih affirmed Sunday Iraq's aspiration to support the international community and establish balanced relations.
The media office of the President said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today at the Peace Palace in Baghdad the credentials of the ambassadors of Kuwait, Tariq Abdullah Al-Faraj, Denemark , Christian Thorning and the Netherlands, Johannes Lindert Sande."
Salih stressed, according to the statement, when receiving the ambassadors separately, that "Iraq looks forward for the support of the international community, establishing balanced relations based on common interests, strengthening political, economic and commercial cooperation, and overcoming differences through dialogue."
He pointed out that "there are common global and regional challenges that require joint cooperation and coordination, most notably combating terrorism and cross-border extremism, addressing economic fluctuations and health crises, and confronting severe climate changes."
Salih expressed his "wishes for the new ambassadors to succeed in performing their new duties, in a way that enhances friendship and cooperation relations between Iraq and their countries."
For their part, the ambassadors extended their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, expressing "their countries' aspiration to strengthen relations with Iraq in various fields in a manner that enhances joint ties."
