SMC: PM directs to protect the demonstrators

The Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, issued directives to provide protection for the demonstrators.

The Security Media Cell stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirms the right of peaceful demonstrations that the constitution guarantees their practice within the framework of the law," calling on the demonstrators to "cooperate with the security forces in preserving state institutions and property." public and private and protect them. 

The Commander-in-Chief stressed, according to the statement, the previously issued instructions that the security forces should fully protect peaceful demonstrators, stressing "preventing the use of gunfire and other illegal methods in dealing with demonstrations.".

According to the statement, the Commander-in-Chief called upon the media and social media pages to avoid circulating and being drawn into false news, which aims to create a disturbing atmosphere that fuels chaos and harms civil peace.
