The World Health Organization in Iraq clarified about easing preventive measures for Corona, while indicating that it will publish recommendations to ease more measures soon.

The representative of the organization, Ahmed Zouiten, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the easing of preventive measures against Corona has become a foregone conclusion, as all citizens have been liberated from a few preventive measures, due to the long duration of the pandemic."

He added, "With regard to Iraq, we have achieved strong outcomes in combating the epidemic, but it is not over yet."

He pointed out, "There are infections with the Corona virus, so we are waiting for some time to pass, so that we can give recommendations to mitigate more than preventive measures," noting that there is an expectation that the number of infections will increase in the winter after the weather changes and cools.

He stressed, "The World Health Organization is a body concerned with all concepts of health around the world, but each country is alone and has strategies to limit some things."

He added, "We will take the appropriate decision with the participation of the Higher Advisory Committee and experts from the Ministry of Health in Iraq at the appropriate time," noting that "Iraq has been preparing since the first day with vaccines as needed, and they are available, but the doses that come to Iraq have been reduced."
