Ministry of Interior- MOI addressed on Saturday, the visitors via two messages regarding confronting rumors.
The two messages were sent by the Rumors Combating Department within the Relations and Information Department of the Ministry of Interior regarding confronting rumors, while confirming that new detachments were formed to cover all visitors' routes.
"The Department has begun implementing the support plan established to secure Arbaeen visit in cooperation with civil society organizations and volunteered teams for the purpose of awareness, education and increase the sense of security to the citizen," said the Director of Rumors Department, Brigadier General Nibras Muhammad Ali in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He pointed out that "religious occasions are always accompanied by a number of rumors as those who launch them are trying to provoke panic and anxiety."
"The Department works to spread awareness and education to combat rumors in several languages," he highlighted, calling on "visitors to go to the security forces in the event of any emergency and not to believe any news without referring to its true source and to follow the instructions for fighting rumours."
He explained that "there is a large number of visitors in the country, where coordination has been made to spread the largest number of the department's detachments with police leaders."
