On Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council SJC issued a directive on water scarcity and confronting desertification.
SJC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the head of the Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidan received today the head of the team of the National Initiative to Support Energy and Reduce Emissions Jassim Al-Falahi and the accompanying delegation and discussed the aspects of the cooperation of the judiciary with the team in order to control the issue of water and energy scarcity and confront the phenomenon of desertification and climate change."
"Zidan expressed his support for the team's work and directed the courts to cooperate with the competent detachments to take legal action against those who violate the instructions and directives of the team," the statement said.
