Russia thwarted an Ukrainian attempt to restore Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a regular briefing, today, Saturday, that Ukrainian forces launched an attack aimed at controlling Zaporizhia nuclear plant during the night.

The ministry said more than 250 Ukrainian naval forces attempted to land on the coast of a lake near the station in southern Ukraine at around 2300 local time (2000 GMT) on Friday evening.

Russia said its forces thwarted the attack by using military helicopters and fighters.
