The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring expected, today, Thursday, that Iraq will be exposed to a new heat wave, starting next Saturday.
The weather forecasting department of the authority stated in a report received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "it is expected that the country will be affected by high temperatures throughout the country next Saturday, corresponding to September 3, 2022, as a result of the country being affected by the extension of the seasonal air temperature depression, which causes a gradual rise in temperatures to be higher than their general averages.
He added, "The high temperatures continue for several days and then drop relatively low to return to their general rates starting on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in the central and northern regions, while the decline begins in the southern region as of Thursday."
