Leader of the Sadrist movement, Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr called on Saturday, for a peaceful million protest in Tahrir Square, Baghdad Center.

"This is my last call. I have cleared my responsibility before my Lord, my father, and my people. After the protest was divided into two part, it has become obligatory for me to investigate which part is more numerous and sympathetic to the Iraqi people, regardless of their affiliations,” said Salih Muhammad al-Iraqi, Minister of Sayyed al-Sadr, quoted him, followed up by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

He added, "After relying on God Almighty, I address this speech to the beloved Iraqi people with their clans, segments, sects and their women, young, elders and children. Today, I am counting on you to advocate for Iraq for reform and to save what is left so that you will not be an easy prey for corruption, injustice, militias, corrupt and authoritarian.”

"Yes, I count on you and I feel courageous and will not let down by you. It is (the end of the last chance), through a united ‘peaceful’ ‘million’ protest all over Iraq's governorates, regions, villages and neighborhoods. Even from all its alleys and homes, to go to the beloved capital, Baghdad to Tahrir Square, and then to your protesting brothers to support reform for the love of Iraq, with a huge million march carrying the flags of Iraq and the banners of reform, banners of liberation and with your loud voices that shake the thrones of the miserable. Then return to your homes safely and securely,” he highlighted.

He added, "Let us send a million-popular message to the whole world that Iraq is with reform and reform is with Iraq, as there is no place for corruption and the corrupt. All of you are sponsors and all of you are responsible for reform. The decision is the people's decision, either reform or a corruption that does not disappear, and dependency taking root to erase all that remains of it.”
