Biden: We agreed to link the electricity network in Iraq with the network of the Cooperation Council

    US President Joe Biden announced an agreement to link the electric power grid in Iraq with the grid of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

    "We agreed to link the electricity network in Iraq with the network of the Cooperation Council," Biden said at a press conference in the Saudi city of Jeddah, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    He added, "I discussed with Saudi officials the issue of energy and the need to provide the markets with what they need, and I expect practical steps from Riyadh," noting that "the Saudi authorities agreed to extend the armistice in Yemen."
