Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi visited today Saturday the University of Mosul.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that" Al-Kadhimi visited the University of Mosul and toured its departments, and saw the reconstruction and rehabilitation progress achieved after the considerable damage caused by ISIS terrorist gangs.”
The statement added that “Al-Kadhimi viewed samples of books and manuscripts and the modern library of the university, which included books donated by different countries and by international cultural figures and artists, and he also viewed samples of books that were destroyed during ISIS occupation of Mosul, which the university preserved as an embodiment of ISIS barbarism.”
Al-Kadhimi praised the efforts of the university's professors and students and applauded their good endeavors that helped the university shake off the dust and set out towards new academic horizons that builds hope for a better future for the governorate and its citizens.
The statement also mentioned that “the President of University of Mosul presented a number of souvenirs to the Prime Minister embodying the history of the university and its cultural activities.”
