Google has announced that it will start taking measures to get users of the popular Hangouts app to switch to another app, RT reported.

And Google indicated in its blog on the Internet that users of the Hangouts application for mobile devices will be able to use it until November of this year, but as of July, they will receive messages directing them to move to the Chat application.

Google will automatically transfer the data of Hangouts users to the Chat application, and will also allow users to use the Takeout services to save a copy of their data that was present in the first application.

To encourage users to switch to the Chat application, Google has introduced many features in this application, such as the ability to make calls, and the ability to exchange photos and data.

Ravi Caniganti, Product Manager, Google Chat said: “Chat brings a modern and integrated experience in Google Workspace, and we have great ambitions for the future of this application, and over the coming months many features will appear in it such as direct communication, direct connection in Spaces, and the ability to share and view photos. And as we take this step to bring remaining Hangouts users to Chat, we hope users will appreciate our continued investment in making Chat a powerful place for innovation and collaboration.”
