The countries of Britain, France and Germany affirmed, today, Thursday, that reviving the nuclear agreement with Iran is still possible .
This came in a joint statement issued by the permanent missions of the three countries to the United Nations.
"We affirm our full support for the efforts aimed at reviving the joint comprehensive plan signed with Iran (the nuclear deal)," the statement said.
The statement stressed that "the intensified diplomatic efforts to restore the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action have resulted in a workable deal that has been on the table since early March, and we call on Iran to seize this diplomatic opportunity.".
The three countries added in the statement: “While reaching an agreement with Iran is still possible.”
On Wednesday, they concluded indirect talks between Washington and Tehran, coordinated by the European Union, in order to break the deadlock on how to revive the nuclear agreement.
In May 2018, Washington withdrew from the agreement signed in 2015 between Iran and the P5+1 group, which includes Russia, Britain, China, the United States, France and Germany, and imposed economic sanctions on Tehran.
