Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Sheikha Wan Abdullah Ahmed called on Wednesday, on Azerbaijan to facilitate entry visa procedures for Iraqis.
Abdullah met in the capital Baku his counterpart, Vice-President of the Azerbaijani National Council Adel Aliyev and Chairman of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi Friendship Committee Ilham Mamdov, and the Iraqi delegation, which included MPs (Muhammad Al-Rumaithi, Hamid Ahmed Al-Qaraghuli and Karim Shakur), according to a statement by the media office Deputy Speaker received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
The meeting included a number of talks with the Azerbaijani side in order to raise the level of cooperation in the economic, commercial and cultural fields, as well as joint coordination and visits exchange between the two sides.
Abdullah praised the role of the Republic of Azerbaijan and “its continued support for the Iraqi people in order to enhance security and stability, as well as to provide assistance in times of adversity to fight terrorism and overcome COVID-19 pandemic crisis, in addition to its efforts to develop bilateral diplomatic relations, and its consistent positive attitudes towards Iraq.”
