Leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called Sunday that Popular Mobilization should not be associated with politics, trade and disputes.
Al-Sadr said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Praise be to God who has helped Iraq and its people and humiliated terrorism and its people.
He added, " the fatwa of the supreme reference for the establishment of the popular mobilization forces should not be neglected at all , it had the greatest impact in mobilizing believers and patriots and mobilizing them to support Iraq and the holy sites, thanks to it."
He stressed, "Let us prove to everyone that there is no grace in jihad and liberation, but rather that we have to restore their dignity and renounce sectarianism in their areas and not take them for the crime of the extremists among them, for we and them reject terrorism and the enactment of terrorism by residents, civilians, minorities and others."
Al-Sadr stated, “I offer my respect and love to my mujahideen brothers in the popular jihadist popular mobilization and to its wounded and heroic martyrs who sacrificed for their homeland hand in hand with the security forces, and out of love for them, I condemn all the abusive acts that are issued by some of their affiliates and in their name, address and jihad,” stressing the necessity to organizes the popular mobilization and its leaders, adheres to centralization, separates them from the so-called factions”.
He pointed out that "the popular mobilization title should not be involved in politics, trade, disagreements, political conflicts.”
