The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed that new amendments were made to the amounts of the emergency support law for food security and development, after discussions within the committee, while confirming that most of the deputies voted in favor of its legislation in tomorrow’s session.

A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Satar Al-Attabi, told Al-Iraqiya News, and it was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "tomorrow, Wednesday, will be a date for voting on the proposal for the emergency support law, which is the last day of the first legislative term of the House of Representatives in its current legislative session."

Al-Attabi added, "Most of the members of the House of Representatives support the legislation of the law and it was voted on in the Finance Committee after a 7-hour meeting in which the observations were taken and the law was saturated with discussion and clarification, and at the end it came out in a way that includes several categories and sectors, and it is not a substitute for the budget."

He continued, "The law dealt with the file of lecturers and administrators, contracts and daily wages, and an amount of one billion dinars was allocated for the remaining months of the year to address their situation, and the authority is open to the Ministry of Finance to cover their needs, and the issue will be fully resolved if the budget law is included."

Al-Attabi stressed that "the total amount of the proposed law will amount to 25 trillion dinars, and amendments were made to its text after the second reading, as what was allocated to the electricity sector was reduced from 5 trillion and 300 billion dinars to 4 trillion, and the amount allocated to the development of the regions was reduced from 10 trillion to 8 trillion dinars, the amount allocated to the Ministry of Commerce was reduced from 8 to 6 trillion dinars, as a ratio and proportion was calculated for the needs of the rest of this year and to secure strategic storage for three months of next year.
