Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MOFA clarified on Monday, the details of the quarrel that occurred between Iraqi and Jordanian students in one of Amman's universities.
While all the arrested students were released, the Iraqi community indicated the end of the problem and the pledges of students not to repeat what happened inside and outside the campus.
"The quarrel took place at the University of Al-Khwarizmi in Amman, Jordan and started verbally, then the quarrel escalated to using hands as the Jordanian security interfered and resolved the matter," said MOFA spokesman, Ahmed Al -Sahaf, to the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
He asserted, "The Iraqi embassy contacted the Jordanian authorities, as the arrested Iraqi students were released and everyone is in good health and things are currently well."
Muhammad Al -Baldawi, the official of the Iraqi community in Amman, told INA that "a simple problem occurred between Iraqi and Jordanian students at Al -Khwarizmi University as a result of conversations and there is no validity of the great reasons for this quarrel on the communication sites."
He noted, "The college administration was able to break the fight and take pledges from students not to repeat it inside or outside the campus of Al -Khwarizmi College."
"We conducted with those charged with the Iraqi embassy in Amman, a lengthy meeting with the Deanship of the College to determine the reasons that led to the escalation of the quarrel, and it was agreed to playback to the surveillance cameras and the use of witnesses from students to clarify what happened,” he explained.
