The Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Genocide Prevention Special Adviser Alice Nderitu stressed Wednesday, the need to unify the social fabric in Iraq.

During her speech at the Interfaith Dialogue Conference on the victims and survivors of ISIS terrorist gangs, building support for accountability and strengthening social cohesion, attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Nderitu indicated the need to unify the social fabric of the country from Baghdad to the smallest village in the country. "

She added, "UNAMI and UNDP support this," noting that "many communities so far feel marginalized and feel the need to protect their language and religion, so old grievances must be confronted."

Nderitu also pointed out, "The Iraqi society has experienced the serious effects of not ending the old grievances, so the difference between the sects must be considered with as an advantage rather than an obstacle," stressing "the readiness to support all efforts in this field."
