Second phase of Operation Solid Will kicks off, JOC reports

    The Joint Operations Command (JOC) announced Saturday, the start of the second phase of Operation Solid Will, west of the country.
     
    The Security Media Cell (SMC) said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Under the supervision of JOC, security units launched today, Saturday, the second phase of the (Solid Will) operation in the west of the country."
     
    The statement added that "The command units of the operations of Anbar, Al-Jazeera, Karbala, and forces from the Border Guard Command and the Popular Mobilization Forces in western Anbar and the middle Euphrates are participating in this operation, while units of the Special Forces, the Counter-Terrorism Service and the Rapid Response Division carry out specific operations towards specific targets in different areas through airborne forces using helicopters, including ambushes deep in the desert. "
     
    SMC added, "This operation comes with air support from the army aviation and the Air Force, according to accurate information from the intelligence agencies, and coincided with exposure activities carried out by the valiant forces in other sectors, as the First Brigade of the Rapid Response Division, in partnership with the units of Diyala Operations Command, launched an inspection campaign within the command sector, while the Special Task Force Brigade of the Federal Police carries out joint qualitative duties within Samarra Operations Sector", noting that "the Ninth Armored Division is conducting search and inspection operations in Al-Aith area, east of Salah al-Din Governorate, and the Iraqi Special Forces are conducting other large-scale operations south of Kirkuk."
