Perez: the best striker in the world

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez commented on the brilliance of Karim Benzema, the team's striker, against Chelsea in yesterday's match.

Real Madrid defeated Chelsea 3-1 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg match, which was held at Stamford Bridge.

Karim Benzema scored Real Madrid's hat-trick against Chelsea, while Kai Haveritz scored the Blues' only goal in that match.

"Karim Benzema is the best striker in the world," Perez said in a statement carried by "Sky Sports."

Karim Benzema scored 37 goals in 36 games with Real Madrid this season, which is the best goal-scoring rate he has achieved in his career.

The Champions League quarter-final second leg match between Real Madrid and Chelsea will be held at Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, April 12.

Real Madrid is seeking to maintain its lead in the result against Chelsea in order to snatch the ticket to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals in the second leg at the Bernabeu.
