A governmental intention to establish an Emergency Fund, Finance Minister says

Finance Minister Ali Allawi revealed Thursday, a plan to establish an emergency fund.
 
"The Ministry is committed to following up and implementing the paragraphs of the Emergency Support and Food Security Act in a manner that ensures the purpose for which it was prepared," Alawi told the Iraqi News Agency.
 
He added, "During the hosting session, opinions and views related to the details of the act and the ways to implement it were exchanged according to the priorities and timelines stipulated, and to focus on ensuring that the maximum benefit from the Act is achieved in supporting the low-income groups and reducing the effects of high global prices for basic foodstuffs."
 
"A number of issues including, economic and development affairs, the financial and monetary policy, such as preparation of final accounts, allocations of projects, ration card items, public expenditure ratios, achieved financial revenues and external and internal debt issues, were also discussed," he continued.
 
Alawi pointed out," The possibility of establishing an emergency fund and addressing local and international challenges has also been discussed".
