The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, confirmed today, Thursday, that the fact-finding committee has procedures regarding the bombing of Erbil.
Al-Zamili said in a statement to a number of media outlets, including the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "hosting the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region was fruitful, and several questions were asked to the minister regarding the bombing of Erbil," noting that "the fact-finding committee (FFC) has hosted the head of the intelligence service and officials." Then the foreign minister and the Iranian ambassador to Iraq may be hosted.”
He added, "The committee is continuing its investigations to reach the results that led to the targeting," noting that "events cannot be anticipated, and we have multiple measures."
He explained, "Iraq is not a weak country as befits some parties, but rather it is a strong country that fought ISIS and defeated terrorism," pointing out that "there may be discrimination and unbalanced politics due to the large number of parties, disagreements and conflicts, but this does not mean that Iraq is a weak country and it is not appropriate for it to be weak."
Al-Zamili stressed, "We will have many and multiple procedures and results through international forums, so we collect documents and data," noting that "Iraq has relations with Iran, as it helped us in the war against ISIS, but this does not mean that it is attacking us."
