Abdul Amir Yarallah arrived Wednesday in Diyala province to oversee security plans and measures.
"Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah has arrived in Diyala province," said a reporter for the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "Yarallah checked on Diyala operations and reviewed the security plans and procedures within the division."
"The army chief of staff stressed the continued pressure on terrorists, pursuing their defeated remnants in Hamrin and intensifying the intelligence effort and cooperating with citizens in order to prevent terrorists from carrying out their criminal plans to target the security of Diyala province," he said.
