Al-Darraji announces measures to support local military industrialization

     Head of the Military Industry Corporation announced Wednesday measures to support the local military manufacturing, while calling on companies to establish an effective partnership with the Corporation.
     
    On the sidelines of the opening of the Security and Defense Exhibition, which was attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the head of the commission, Muhammad Sahib Al-Daraji, said that "the military industries represent an essential pillar of national security, in addition to the economic dimension represented by the military industry by maintaining hard currency inside the country." 
     
    He explained, "The establishment of Military Industry Corporation by Law 25 of 2019 and its operation in 2020 was a national initiative by the Iraqi legislator to preserve the country's security and economic capabilities," noting that "the corporation began its work months ago in finding the infrastructure for local military manufacturing, with the cooperation of the Minister of Defense ." The corporation was able to set priorities for arming the Iraqi army for the next four years, according to the priorities set by the military commanders.
     
     
    He added, "There is great cooperation by joint operations in the framework of supporting local manufacturing to maintain the country's security through defense industries," calling "all companies present at the conference to partner effectively with the Military Industry Corporation according to Iraqi law and to benefit from the privilege established by the Iraqi legislator for the national product." ".
    He pointed out, "The added value of producing the product inside the country will positively return to the Iraqi economy through the process of settling the military industry and security services to achieve national security, and the manufacture of weapons and ammunition inside the country will be according to the requirements of the beneficiary," noting that "this matter needs cooperation between the parties." 
     
    Al-Darraji called on "security and military institutions to support military industrialization projects in the country."
