Iraq and the International Community discuss steps to confront crises

    Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah confirmed on Saturday, that he discussed with the international community, on the sidelines of the hearing at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the most important steps to confront crises and strategies required for sustainable development.

    The work of the parliamentary hearing, which was held on February 17-18 at the United Nations headquarters in New York, was concluded, and Iraq attended in this international forum with the participation of Iraq, and discussed with heads of parliaments and delegations a number of files and issues of common interest, as well as the need to develop coordination and cooperation mechanisms between the United Nations and members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, in addition to the importance of supporting economic growth and creating opportunities to promote peace in the region and the Middle East, according a statement by the media office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    Abdullah noted, "Iraq's participation in the hearing was very important, and we discussed with the international community the most important steps to confront crises and strategies required for sustainable development, in addition to build bridges of cooperation with the international community to address problems, combat terrorism and corruption, combat epidemics and climate change, support women's issues and youth to enhance their role in the society to achieve stability, peace and prosperity in the countries of the world,
