Iraqi Ports Company announced on Saturday, the details of leasing its marine units outside territorial waters, stressing that this step came to increase Iraq's financial returns.
”The approval of the Cabinet have been obtained to rent marine units outside the territorial waters, where we have the giant crane (Aba Dhar) with a tonnage of two thousand tons, as well as a fleet of marine rigs and haulers,” said the spokesman for Company, Anmar Al-Safi, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He explained that, "leasing the Iraqi naval units has great financial returns," noting "In the past, the ports leased their marine units in Yemen, Aden, and many nearby regional countries,"
Earlier, the Iraqi Cabinet agreed that the General Company for Ports of Iraq would lease marine units outside the territorial waters.
