Baghdad's operations command revealed on Sunday, new information about the bombing of Baghdad airport and the security of Tarmiya district, while referring to the use of modern devices to curb terrorist infiltration into the district.

Baghdad Operations Commander Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "After targeting Baghdad airport with Katyusha missiles, our intelligence services formed a committee at the headquarters of the Operations Command headed by the Director of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism in Baghdad, and its membership included the directors of the intelligence services operating in Baghdad to investigate the attack.

"In cooperation with the operational commanders adjacent to Baghdad, specifically with Diyala and the intelligence services there, one of the suspects was arrested while trying to escape outside Baghdad and Diyala," he said.

"The suspect is currently under investigation and after the completion of the investigation, the results will be presented to the public," he said.

"The Tarmiya district and northern Baghdad in general have not seen any enemy activity in more than six months," said the commander of Baghdad's operations.

he indicated, that "there is information coming from intelligence agencies about the presence of mobile hideouts , where the enemy is now using them, because the fixed ones are being targeted by the security units,"

"There is a very large cooperation between the people and the security forces, which began with the presence of the Popular Mobilization Regiment formed by the sons of Tarmiya, which played a major role in killing terrorists, ambushing them, monitoring the movement of terrorist groups and killing and wounding their members, as well as the contact of civilian citizens with intelligence officers in Tarmiya and sometimes even contacting us directly in the command of operations," he said.

"Our forces are monitoring from time to time some terrorist groups have infiltrated tarmiya to move to other provinces," he said, adding that In recent times, infiltration have decreased due to the equipping of security forces with thermal cameras and thermal binoculars installed on the rifle, which has made it easier to target these groups, so their movement has decreased a lot in recent times.
