Spokesman for the joint operations Maj. Gen. Tahsin al-Khafaji, said in a statement to INA that the military operations in Tarmiya district are continuing to ensure security and stability in the region, clarifying that the operations have achieved many results, including the destruction of many hideouts and the arrest of terrorists, as well as the securing of Alzohour area, which was considered a dangerous area north of the district.
He added that the engineering effort in that area has been intensified, houses have been renovated, reeds and papyrus have been lifted, which was hampering the movement of security forces, and roads have been paved, noting that the security operations will extend to other areas similar to Tarmiya conditions.
He also said that the security forces will follow a method and tactic that is consistent with the scale of the threats that ISIS terrorist gangs have begun to use against the security forces.
