Al-Ghazi invites the Chinese Minister of Commerce to visit Iraq

    The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naeem Al-Ghazi, called on Thursday, China to choose a number of well established companies to work in Iraq, while extending an invitation to the Chinese Minister of Commerce to visit Iraq.
     
    The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that , " Al-Ghazi , received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Baghdad, Zhang Tao, on the occasion of the end of his duties."
     
    Al-Ghazi affirmed, "The depth of the relationship between the governments of the Republic of Iraq and the People's Republic of China, and the aspiration towards a strategic relationship between the governments and peoples of the two countries, in the political, economic and commercial fields, especially as framework agreement between the two countries begun".
     
    He pointed to "The need to strengthen joint cooperation during the next phase, work with serious and positive steps on the ground, and start projects for Chinese companies to rehabilitate Nasiriyah International Airport and establish (1000) model schools, after the end of contractual procedures and steps taken by the Iraqi side.”
     
    Al-Ghazi also called on the Chinese ambassador to "select a number of well-established Chinese companies to work in Iraq, and create a spirit of competition among them, to start implementing the projects that the Supreme Committee for Activation of the Agreement is working to choose according to importance and priority," inviting the Chinese Minister of Commerce to visit Iraq, in order to develop future work agenda.
     
    For his part, Tao stressed "The desire and seriousness of the Chinese government to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries, by involving sober Chinese companies, to work in Iraq under the framework agreement, and contribute to the establishment of vital and strategic projects."
