The security media cell (SMC) announced on Monday, capturing an ISIS administrative official and one of his assistance in Nineveh province.

" In their continues operations and through intensifying the intelligence efforts, The Agency of Intelligence and Federal Investigation (AIFI) enabled to apprehend 2 wanted according to the provisions of article 4 of anti-terrorism law ,due to their belonging to ISIS terrorists groups”, confirming that “ thorough investigation , the first terrorist admitted that he worked in what so-called Diwan al-Jund al-Ghuraba Brigade and participated in several operations against the Popular Mobilization Forces in Makhoul Mountains, and then assumed the position of the so-called administrative official of the battalion of Omar Ibn al-Khattab and participated in the battle Mosul against the forces. , then in 2019 he returned to Baghdad for surveying the situations, collecting information and carrying out terrorist operations,” SMC said in a statement, received by the Iraqi news agency (INA).

The statement added that "The second terrorist worked in the so-called The non-Islamic police Diwan, and after that he was chosen to participate in terrorist operations in Makhoul Mountains, and after the operations ended, he returned to the city of Mosul and was assigned to fight the security forces participating in the operations to liberate Mosul."

SMC also affirmed that the terrorists were referred to the competent authorities to take all the legal measures against them.
