UNAMI expresses concern over the targeting of BGD

    The United Nations Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) expressed its concern over the targeting of Baghdad airport with missiles. 

    The mission stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) expressed its deep concern about the current wave of attacks targeting political party offices, housing and companies in Iraq, the latest of which was the missile attack on Baghdad International Airport." 

    The statement added that "all concerned must not be satisfied with condemnation and take immediate action to discover who is behind these attacks, and at the same time, dialogue must be intensified in order to overcome any political dispute." 

    The Iraqi Airways announced earlier today that one of the out-of-service aircraft had been damaged as a result of targeting Baghdad Airport. 

    A statement to inform the Ministry of Transport, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the General Company for Iraqi Airways confirms that the missile bombing that targeted Baghdad International Airport at dawn today, Friday, damaged one of the company's out-of-service planes perched in the vicinity of the airport," noting that " Direct passenger flights continue.
