Ministry of communication (MoC) announced on Thursday, a strategic plan for Internet service in Iraq, while indicating the imminent opening of bids for the Iraqi satellite.
The ministry's spokesman, Raad al-Mashhadani, said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The recent ranking, with Iraq obtaining 47th place in providing Internet service, motivated the ministry and the engineering cadres to provide the best services in order to establish a developed Iraqi communications service."
“MoC has conducted number of national projects since last year, and the efforts still ongoing to develop them”, Al-Mashhadani added.
He noted that "A strategic plan for the current year has been developed by the Ministry, aimed at developing Internet services, in addition to the opening of tenders for Iraq's first satellite, as well as the opening of electronic portals."
