The Joint Operations Command confirmed Thursday that the Sinjar agreement is proceeding as planned.
"The Sinjar agreement is proceeding as planned," General Tahsin al-Khafaji, spokesman for the Operations Command, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"It was agreed between the federal government and the Kurdistan region on the possibility of managing the security file in Sinjar by the security forces," he said.
Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi had earlier said he would continue to impose state authority and law in Sinjar.
