After a short Christmas break, Barcelona immediately returned to preparing for the remainder of the season, and before the start of the training session, two of their players tested positive for the Corona virus, Clement Longlet and Dani Alves.
And due to infection with the virus, both of them did not attend the training session on Tuesday, and they will also miss the match against Mallorca in the Spanish League, next Monday.
Initially, the initial reports from the Spanish “Daily Ara” indicated that French defender Longlet was infected with the Covid-19 virus, but later Barcelona confirmed that the Brazilian player Alves had also been infected, and therefore his first appearance with Barcelona in the League was postponed.
And the club’s official website published: “Climo Longlet and Dani Alves from FC Barcelona have tested positive for the Corona virus and will not participate in tomorrow’s training session.”
This comes as the new Omicron mutant is beginning to spread in Europe.
