The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia host today, Tuesday, the 42nd Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in the capital, Riyadh.
On his Twitter account, GCC published on this occasion 10 of the rights that enjoyed by a Gulf citizen, which came as follows:
Citizens have the freedom to move with the smart card between the GCC countries and reside in any of them.
A Gulf citizen has the right to own real estate for housing purposes in all member states.
Citizens enjoy insurance and retirement protection.
A citizen shall enjoy equality with the citizens of the State in which he or she works if joins any other member State, in the governmental or private sectors.
A citizen has the right to access any public hospital or government clinic in any of the GCC countries.
Children of a citizen residing in a member state of the Cooperation Council have the right to enroll in government schools in any of the GCC states.
A citizen has the right to engage in economic, investment, commercial, service and craft activities in any of the GCC countries.
To facilitate the citizen's financial, investment and commercial transactions, the decisions of the Cooperation Council allowed the Gulf national banks to open branches in all the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
A citizen has the right to trade and buy shares and establish joint stock companies in any of the GCC countries, and has the right to open branches of any company he owns in the rest of the GCC countries, and the branch is treated like national companies.
With the establishment of the Customs Union in 2003, the national products of the GCC states and other goods are transferred between the member states without customs or non-tariff restrictions.
