Head of the counter-terrorism service, Lt. Gen. Abdul Wahab al-Saaedi, stressed on Monday the importance of reviewing strategies in the fight against terrorism.
“Lt. Gen. Abdul Wahab al-Saaedi received today, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia Reda Zguidan at the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorism Service," the service said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "visions and positions on the issues of terrorism and the need to strengthen cooperation in areas that serve regional and Arab security have been exchanged."
Al-Saaedi called for "the importance of reviewing strategies in the fight against terrorism and extremism," noting "the importance of developing counter-terrorism agencies in countries suffering from the scourge of terrorism."
Tunisian Ambassador Reda Zguidan expressed "pride and appreciation for what Iraq has done during its war against takfiri terrorist groups," stressing "the readiness of the two brotherly countries to formulate a framework for joint action in the fight against terrorism and extremist ideology".
