At 7:00 p.m. on today Wednesday, Iraqi fans will turn to al-Madina Stadium, which will witness the opening of the stadium and the final match of the West Asian Championship between our youth team and its Lebanese counterpart.
"All the players are in high spirits and we will play with a consistent squad and attacking performance, and the players are determined to finish the game at its original time," said Qahtan al-Maliki, media coordinator for our youth team.
"The public presence is expected to be large and all the players are in high spirits," al-Maliki said, adding that "the ranks of the team are complete except for the player Mohammed Jamil, who is suffering from injury, while the match will see the return of Ali Sadiq to the squad."
"The players are determined to achieve a positive result and obtain the title," al-Maliki said.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the readiness of the city stadium for the opening ceremony and the hosting of the final match of the West Asian Championship, and the completion of all logistics for the establishment of this important carnival as the first step on the road to lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums.
