(I am Iraqi, I read) festival kicks off in Baghdad

    Under the slogan of (I am Iraqi, I read) festival was held this Saturday evening, in the gardens of Abu Nawas Park, in central Baghdad, in its eighth season, in the presence of a large audience. 

    One of the organizers of the festival told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "more than 30,000 copies of books were donated to thousands of writers in the fields of science, knowledge, culture, history, geography, politics, literature, arts, human development and other fields," noting that "I am an Iraqi festival." Read also includes artistic and cultural youth activities and book signings. 

    He stressed that "these books are distributed free of charge to those wishing to purchase them to achieve the festival's goal of spreading a culture of reading among Iraqis of all ages," noting that "the festival is held for one day only."
