BOC foils the escape attempt of 3 terrorists from Taji prison

Baghdad Operations Command announced on Saturday, thwarting the escape attempt of three terrorists, from Taji prison, north of Baghdad.

Baghdad Operations Command said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "A joint security force from the 59th Brigade, the Sixth Infantry Division and the Commandos Regiment of the Second Division, Federal Police managed to thwart an escape attempt of three terrorists sentenced to life imprisonment from Taji prison, north of Baghdad, which is affiliated to the Reform Department at in the Ministry of Justice".

BOC also added that "the security forces opened fire on the terrorists, when they did not comply with the orders of the force, as one of them was killed while the other two surrendered."

BOC pointed out that "An investigation has been conducted into the incident by the competent authorities."
