A joint force has killed one of Kirkuk's largest drug dealers, the security media cell said on Wednesday.
"After gathering information on the movements of one of the largest drug traffickers in Kirkuk province, the detachments of the anti-drug department in the province, the duty force of the police chief's office, the detachments of the Kirkuk Military Intelligence and Security Directorate, and a tight security ambush, managed to surround a drug dealer and issue numerous arrest warrants against him, and killed him after shooting at the security forces in charge of duty," the cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"He was arrested in possession of various weapons and narcotic substances estimated at half a kilo of crystal," the cell said, noting that "he is the same suspect who shot at police detachments the last month, after which two officers and an associate were injured."
