The famous Iraqi poet Samir Sabeah died, today, Friday, in a traffic accident in Wasit province.
The reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "The great poet Samir Sabeah died today due to a traffic accident at dawn today, Friday on the Badra-Kut road in Wasit province."
The Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network mourned the poet Samir Sabeah, in a statement: “The Board of Trustees extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased and the poetic arena, asking Allah Almighty to dwell him in his vast gardens, and to inspire his family and lovers’ patience and solace."
Samir Sabeah is considered one of the pioneering poets in the field of folk poetry and enjoys great popularity due to his poems that touch the Iraqi reality.
