The Joint Operations Command announced on Friday, that no curfew was imposed during the special voting process.
The spokesman for JOC, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said in a statement to the Iraqi News channel, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The security plan for securing the polling stations is proceeding according to the prepared procedures."
Al-Khafaji added, "We will not allow any security breach during the special voting process," noting that "there is no curfew during the voting process."
Al-Khafaji also stressed that "The security forces are deployed extensively, with the participation of the Air Force, to secure the elections."
