Facebook: Network outage did not reveal user data

    A team of engineers overseeing facebook's work announced Tuesday that the network's outage did not reveal user data, noting that the outage was the result of a configuration change to the routers that coordinate network traffic.
     
    " configuration change to the routers that coordinate network traffic have led to communications being cut off, and services have malfunctioned," said a statement posted on the company's engineers' website.
     
    Meanwhile, Facebook confirmed that the social network outage along with Instagram and WhatsApp did not lead to a leak or disclosure of user data.
