The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim, discussed with the French Ambassador to Iraq Éric Chevalier the developments of the local and global political scene and the file of the upcoming elections.
The media office of Sayyid Al-Hakim said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday, that " Sayyid Al-Hakim received the new French ambassador in Baghdad, Éric Chevalier, as both sides discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and France, ways to strengthen them, and the developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region."
During the meeting, Al-Hakim indicated the importance of developing relations to serve the two friendly countries and peoples, stressing the importance of being open to all aspects and benefiting from French expertise in the reconstruction and development process.
The statement also pointed out that "The two sides discussed the electoral issue, as Al-Hakim lauded the statement of the Supreme Religious Authority that called for broad and participation in the elections, reiterating its role in determining Iraq's path in the next stage, and the need to compete on the basis of the electoral programs and reflecting a positive image of the democratic experience in Iraq.
