The Minister of Youth and Sports, President of the Football Association, Adnan Dirjal, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the FIFA delegation will submit a final report on lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums.
"I will accompany FIFA delegation to visit Basra province, during its visit to inspect the stadiums, in order to submit a final report regarding lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums and the return of national teams to play on their land again," said Dirjal in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He pointed out that "The visit will continue until next Thursday," noting that "the delegation will assess the sports facilities and visit Basra International Stadium, and get acquainted closely about the reality of the city of Basra from various aspects."
It’s worth mentioning that the visit of the International Football Association comes due to the demands of the Iraqi Football Association to the necessity of returning international matches to Iraq, specifically Basra, because of the lack of the reasons that led our national team not to play their matches in the Asian qualifiers for the Doha World Cup in Qatar as a virtual land.
