The Interior Ministry announced Monday, the arrest of an interior officer impersonator and blackmailer in Baghdad.
"The detachments of the Baghdad Crime Directorate/Al-Bayaa Criminal Office were able to arrest an accused who impersonates an officer in the Interior Ministry in the Sayedia district during the security practices conducted by the detachments," the ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The detachments of Combating crimes office of Al-Mansour district arrested a suspect for electronically blackmailing a girl and threatening to post her pictures on the social networking site (Facebook) if she did not pay him money, where a tight ambush was set up in the area of Abu Ghraib in which the accused was arrested”, the statement said, stressing that the statements of the accused were recorded and referred to the designated authorities for the purpose of completing the legal proceedings against them."
