"In order to complete the proactive operations carried out by the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior and in retaliation for the martyrs of the security forces, a security operation was carried out this morning by the tactical force of the intelligence agency followed up by the joint operations command and coordinated with the air force," the cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"An air strike has been launched on the most important major dens in the Hamrin mountain range, and this den is the starting point for the terrorist operations witnessed by the Kirkuk cutter," it said, adding that "this duty was carried out on the basis of accurate intelligence and the penetration of terrorist gangs by the intelligence agency."
"The other terrorist elements were clashed with in the den and one of them was killed and the other blew himself up after being surrounded by the forces," it said, noting that "the total number of dead has become 4 and searches are still in place to search for the rest of the terrorist dens within this area."
