The spokesman for The Counter-Terrorism Service Sabah Al-Numan, said in an exclusive statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the commander of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi, confirmed the continuation of individual and group training for CTS members, in various martial arts, noting that "training is one of the basics of the CTS because it raises the physical, combat and psychological level of its members.
Al-Numan noted that "since the beginning of this year, the Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Service has developed a rapid plan of 3 years with the aim of increasing the combat capabilities and logistical readiness of the fighters, adding that CTS carried out qualitative rapid operations, to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, as these operations differ from the operations that was carried out during the liberation of areas from ISIS, which require another tactic to deal with.
Al-Numan continued: "The Counter-Terrorism Service began pursuing the remnants of terrorism, as several operations were carried out during the current year, targeting the remnants of terrorist, and resulted in the arrest of terrorists and the killing of large numbers of ISIS leaders, as well as follow-up the financing processes of terrorism and money laundering, explaining that there has been coordination for years with the Central Bank and the Money Laundering Committee, and due to this coordination , the processes of financing terrorism and transferring the funds outside Iraq have been limited.
