Iraq chaired the 18th Arab Conference of Chiefs of Investigation and Forensic Evidence Services.
The Secretary-General of Arab Interior Ministers council Muhammad Koman, said in the conference, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): The meeting is the first after the spread of Corona pandemic, which has left serious repercussions and placed heavy responsibilities on the security services.
During the virtual meeting, a number of topics, including examining the reality of ballistic databases (weapon fingerprints), linking biometric fingerprint databases between Arab countries, as well as setting Arab guidelines on special investigative methods, and ways to enhance cooperation between public prosecutions, detective services and forensic evidence.
The head of the conference, Major General Dr. Ayad Abdel Hamza Al-Issawi, added in his speech that the conference will continue the process of Arab cooperation to serve common issues, and we are convinced of the importance of ongoing development of criminal policies and standardizing procedures to combat terrorist and international crimes across borders.
