The Security Media Cell announced on Saturday, the arrest of 18 suspects and thwarting an attempt to set fire to a mobile power station.
SMC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): The security forces and the intelligence agencies are continuing their efforts to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, outlaws, and organized crime, as a force from the 4th Brigade of the Federal Police and a detachment from the National Security Service managed to arrest an accused According to Article 4 -1 of Anti-Terrorism after setting up an ambush in (Al-Arifiya) area, and he is wanted by the Diyala Investigation Court.
The statement added thata force from the 2nd Brigade of Federal Police, based on intelligence information, also managed to arrest three suspects who were trying to set fire to a mobile power station after ambushed them in al-Ubaidi area, east of Baghdad, indicating that the two brigades of (42-44) units of the 1st Infantry Division Ten managed to arrest (10) person accused according to various legal articles within al-Rusafa sector.
SMC added that the units of the 1st and 2nd Division of the Federal Police, were also able to arrest four suspects on charges of drug dealing, and seizing weapons and ammunitions during search operations within the sectors of al-Karkh and al-Rusafa, noting that al-Yarmouk police patrols were able to arrest a suspect, in addition to arrest another one for drug dealing, as the police forces seized (400) narcotic drugs in Al-Rashad area.
