The legal authorities in the United States of America confirmed to the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, that all the reserves and funds of the Central Bank of Iraq are secured and no party can seize them, affirming that they will defend its immunity from other States and such reserves could not be compromised.
A statement by the Central Bank, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said on Tuesday, that "Iraq will complete during the upcoming period the full payment of compensation and monetary benefits accrued before 2003, and this will lead to lift the international immunity on Iraq's money abroad.
The statement added, these legal authorities confirmed that the funds and reserves of the Central Bank of Iraq are protected under the laws of the United States of America, and pledged to defend Iraqi funds in central banks and banks in other countries.
